About Frédéric Caudron

Frédéric Caudron was born in Mons in southern Belgium on 27 January 1968. From a very early age, a whole range of ball games obsessed him. It was only fitting that he chose billiards!

A quote from an article in the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant on 06 October 1997 characterized his formative years describing him as, “… an apprentice following in the footsteps of Emile Wafflard. Hence, he has perfect technique…”.

At that point in time, no one dared believe that by 2010 a 42‑year‑old Extraterrestrial, as he is nicknamed, from the small nation of Belgium would have achieved so much:

  • has won over 150 titles
  • is currently No. 1 in the world three-cushion rankings
  • holds countless record averages in classic disciplines including a highly impressive 133.33 for Balkline 47/1 that he achieved during the Belgian Championships in Blankenberge in January 2010
  • is the reigning world champion in Balkline 47/2 and 71/2, reigning European champion in Balkline 47/1 and five-time European cushion caroms champion
  • has won seventy-one national championship titles since his first victory in 1989

It was none other than the legendary Raymond Ceulemans who recently expressed just how much admiration he has for his successor, Frédéric Caudron, describing him as the best player of his era on account of his versatility, scoring ability and class.

In addition to his exceptional billiards knowledge and talent, Frédéric is also highly respected for his persona away from the table. These traits are undoubtedly attributable to the former billiards hall in La Bouverie run by his father André who chalked out the lines for his son’s future success.

International appearances and globetrotting also require an extensive knowledge of languages. Frédéric has taken this in his stride mastering five languages fluently. His ambitions, however, reach much farther, especially with regard to the commercial aspects of his sport. He has his own website, as well as a complete range of products including a recently launched billiards centre.
